Johan Kriek
My name is Johan Kriek. I’m a husband, a father, and a man who knows what it feels like to both win and to lose direction.
As a young man I chased excellence competed in sprinting and hurdling at an elite level in my country of birth, South Africa. I trained hard, I learned discipline. I learned what it meant to suffer for something worthwhile.
Later, in my late 20’s, I found the same focus in competition pistol shooting and bow hunting. These pursuits required me to develop precision, patience and control.
But life isn’t a track.
It isn’t a straight line. It’s more of a journey with twists and turns, ebbs and flows and with a finish line you can not see.
Marriage.
Fatherhood.
Work pressures.
Financial strain.
Spiritual responsibility.
These battles don’t come with a starter’s gun.
And too many men are fighting them alone.
